Credits & Discounts Policy

What Are Credits?

The credit program (the “Program”), sponsored by Italic, Inc. (“Italic”) allows you to use credits to purchase products from Italic. These terms contain important information regarding the Program, so please read them carefully. Italic may change the Program and these terms from time to time in its sole discretion, without notice to you, so you should check these terms periodically.

How to Earn Credits

To open a user account, you must meet the requirements described in the Terms of Service.

Both Bold Members and non-Bold Members may earn Credits by taking various actions (“Eligible Events”), but Bold Members will have more opportunities to earn Credits than non-Bold Members. The number of Credits to be awarded will be described to you when you participate in the Eligible Event.

Italic Bold Members “Eligible Events” Standard Customer “Eligible Events”
  • Upon membership activation
  • Quarterly Bold credit drops
  • Writing product reviews on Italic
  • Choosing store credit for product returns
  • Choosing store credit for product return

You can see your Credit balance and previous Credit transactions on your account settings page.

How to Use Credits

Each Credit will equal $1 (in U.S. Dollars) when redeemed. Credits are redeemable solely towards the purchase of products on Italic.

Any balance of Credits will automatically be applied to the total value of your order at checkout. If you use your Credit balance, and it doesn’t cover the cost of your order, you will need to pay the remaining amount with another payment.

There is no minimum balance required to use your Credits. You cannot redeem Credits for more than the total amount of your purchase. Credits are not redeemable for cash. Credits cannot be used for shipping.

Transferring Credits Between Membership and Non-Membership

If you are currently a Bold Member with a Credit balance in your account and cancel your Bold Membership, you will forfeit any existing Credit balance.

Credits Are Different from Discounts

Credits Discounts
  • Credits can apply to tax
  • Credits impact the total order amount, instead of individual order items
  • Credits function as a payment source and are automatically applied to your cart
  • Credits can expire (e.g. Bold Credit)
  • Credits will always be in U.S. Dollars
  • Discounts never apply to tax
  • Discounts may apply to an order subtotal, or to specific line items
  • Discounts can expire
  • Discounts are sometimes (but not always) automatically applied to your cart (with the option to remove)
  • Discounts may have additional requirements

Suspension, Termination, Revaluation, Modification

Italic may suspend, terminate, revalue, or modify, without liability or notice to you, all or part of the Program or Credit value structure. Italic may adjudicate all Credit discrepancies in Italic’s sole discretion. Italic will not be liable to you for unused or forfeited Credits and will not pay out or reimburse you in any way.

Italic may, in its sole discretion, terminate or suspend your participation in the Program for breach of the Terms of Service, or for taking any actions that are inconsistent with the intent or spirit of the Program or these terms. Any decision Italic makes relating to termination or suspension of your participation in the Program is final and binding.

Miscellaneous

Credits may be taxable, depending on the value of the item and the federal, state, and local tax laws applicable to you. You are solely responsible for reporting such items on your tax returns and paying any associated tax liability. You may not transfer any Credits to any other person. Italic makes no warranties as to any Credits.
